Mia Tamme

Mia Tamme is an artist and storyteller based in Tallinn, Estonia. Her ongoing projects deal with archives—imagined, institutionalized, and bodily. In her filmic, written, and performative works, she patches together oral family histories, and ethnographic-infused field research to imagine the realities that might have fallen out of patriarchal nationalist archiving practices. Mia is currently roaming around with the Dutch Art Institute, making a film about fisherwomen on the islands of Hiiumaa and Salina, and co-hosting an Evening of Tales event in Tallinn.
